Carpet Cleaning KT2 Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Carpet Cleaning KT2 in respect of our activities and supply chains. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in every aspect of our business operations.
Carpet Cleaning KT2 provides carpet, upholstery, and related cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. While we operate within a relatively low-risk sector, we recognise that modern slavery can occur in any industry and any country. We therefore treat the risk with seriousness and diligence.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Carpet Cleaning KT2 has a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not accept, condone, or in any way support the use of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour, child labour that is not in line with applicable laws, or any form of human trafficking within our own operations or our supply chains.
All managers, employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to act with integrity and in full compliance with this commitment. Any indication of modern slavery or related abuse will lead to decisive action, which may include termination of contracts, reporting to appropriate authorities, and full cooperation with any investigations.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Our supply chains mainly include providers of cleaning products and equipment, uniform and consumable suppliers, and occasional subcontracted labour for specialist services. We recognise that some of these supply chains may extend into higher-risk regions or sectors, such as manufacturing of chemicals, textiles, or machinery.
We are committed to working only with suppliers and subcontractors that comply with legal requirements on labour, pay, working hours, health and safety, and human rights. We expect them to uphold the same standards we apply to ourselves.
Supplier Standards and Audits
Carpet Cleaning KT2 is implementing supplier due diligence processes that include checks on labour practices, ownership and control structures, and health and safety arrangements. New suppliers are assessed for ethical performance as part of our onboarding process.
We are rolling out proportionate supplier audits, focusing on higher-risk categories of goods and services. These audits may include site visits where practicable, requests for evidence of policies and procedures, and verification of workforce conditions. Where risks are identified, we will require corrective action within a clear timeframe or, where necessary, discontinue the business relationship.
Policies, Training, and Awareness
Our internal policies support our modern slavery commitments and cover areas such as recruitment, right to work checks, fair pay, and workplace conduct. We do not charge recruitment fees to workers, and we require that any labour provider or subcontractor does the same.
We are developing training and awareness materials so that relevant staff can recognise signs of modern slavery and understand the appropriate escalation routes. This includes supervisors, managers, and team members who interact with suppliers or temporary labour.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Carpet Cleaning KT2 encourages anyone connected with our business, including employees, agency workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders, to report any concern related to modern slavery, exploitation, or unethical labour practices. Concerns may include suspicious working conditions, indications of coercion, withholding of documents, or unreasonable recruitment fees.
Reports can be made to management or through our established internal reporting channels. We are committed to handling all reports sensitively and, where possible, confidentially. We will not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith, and we will take appropriate steps to investigate and respond to every report.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that addressing modern slavery risks is an ongoing process. Carpet Cleaning KT2 is committed to reviewing and enhancing our approach regularly, taking account of evolving legislation, guidance, and best practice.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once a year by senior management to assess its effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. As part of the annual review, we will consider changes in our operations, supplier performance, reported concerns, and the outcomes of our due diligence and audits. Where necessary, we will update our processes, training, and supplier requirements to strengthen our safeguards.
This statement reflects the position of Carpet Cleaning KT2 at the date of publication and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
